New Delhi, July 23: Amid nationwide concern over alleged examination paper leaks and ongoing student protests in the national capital, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday announced that the Centre will establish fast-track courts to ensure speedy trials and strict punishment for those involved in paper leak cases.
In a post on X, the PM Modi stressed the government’s commitment to protecting students and preserving the integrity of competitive examinations.
“Nothing is more important than the welfare and future of our youth,” PM Modi said, adding that the government has decided to set up fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for offenders.
He said he had directed the concerned authorities and officials to take all necessary steps for the early establishment of the courts and the effective prosecution of those responsible for compromising examination processes.
Calling the move part of a broader effort to safeguard students’ interests, the PM Modi asserted that individuals attempting to jeopardize the future of young aspirants would face strict legal consequences.
“This continues our series of steps for safeguarding the interests of students. Those who try to harm the future of our youth will not be spared,” he said.
The announcement comes against the backdrop of continuing student demonstrations in Delhi over alleged irregularities in recruitment and entrance examinations. The issue has also sparked a political confrontation in Parliament, with Opposition parties demanding accountability from the government and seeking the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The Centre has maintained that it is committed to ensuring transparency, fairness, and credibility in the country’s examination system. The proposed fast-track courts are expected to expedite the prosecution of paper leak cases and serve as a deterrent against organised examination fraud.
The government’s latest announcement is likely to remain a key focus of both parliamentary debate and public discussion as students continue to demand stronger safeguards against examination malpractices.
