In a significant step towards protecting the integrity of public examinations, the Bombay High Court has designated two special courts in Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar) and Nagpur to exclusively hear cases related to examination paper leaks and other unfair practices. The move comes in response to growing concerns over repeated paper leak incidents that have disrupted competitive examinations and recruitment processes across the country.
The decision follows the Central Government’s initiative to establish fast-track courts for offences involving public examination malpractices. These courts are expected to ensure speedy trials, quicker disposal of cases, and stricter enforcement of laws against those involved in paper leak conspiracies.
The newly designated courts will handle offences registered under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act and other relevant criminal laws. By assigning dedicated judicial forums, the High Court aims to reduce delays in legal proceedings and ensure that investigations and prosecutions are completed within a reasonable timeframe.
Paper leaks in recent years have affected several high-profile entrance and recruitment examinations, leading to cancellations, delays, and uncertainty for lakhs of students and job aspirants.
