1-The Supreme Court will hear on November 18 the petition filed by SP MLA Pallavi Singh Patel against the Election Commission’s notice after defeating Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya in Kaushambi’s Sirathu assembly seat. Nomination of SP MLA Pallavi Patel in 2022 assembly elections In the letter, there is an allegation of hiding information about the criminal case registered against him. On this complaint of Dilip Patel of Sirathu, the Election Commission took cognizance of the matter.
2-The Supreme Court will hear on November 18 the petition demanding basic facilities in the district courts. This petition has been filed on behalf of Supreme Court lawyer ML Sharma. Courts in India still operate from dilapidated structures, without proper facilities. Such a situation is very harmful to litigants and lawyers. These conditions are making it difficult for the court staff and the judge to perform their functions effectively.
3-The Supreme Court will hear on November 18 the petition filed by columnist and political activist Tehseen Poonawalla. In this petition, the decision of the Central Government to vaccinate Kovid-19 people above 45 years of age has been challenged. It has been demanded in the petition that the dose of corona vaccine should be given to all citizens. The plea states, this arbitrary restriction on age groups is amid a sudden increase in cases of Kovid-19 infection.
4-The Supreme Court will hear on November 18 a petition filed by former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa in a corruption case. In the last hearing, the court asked Yeddyurappa to implead the Karnataka government in his petition and issued notice to the state. The Karnataka High Court had on September 7 restored a private complaint against BJP leader Yeddyurappa and his family members for allegedly taking bribes for awarding government contracts. Earlier, a local sessions court had dismissed a petition seeking a probe into corruption charges against Yeddyurappa as the then-governor refused to sanction it.
5- The Supreme Court will hear on November 18 a PIL filed by Rajya Sabha member Sushmita Dev seeking the issuance of Aadhaar cards to around 27 lakh people included as doubtful citizens in the National Register of Citizens (NRC) of Assam. In the last hearing, senior advocate Vishwajit Dev, appearing for Trinamool Congress MP Deo, argued that those whose names were included in the first NRC list have got Aadhaar cards.
6-The Supreme Court will hear on November 18 a petition filed against appointments in judicial institutions and courts in Jammu and Kashmir. The plea has alleged that relatives of former judges and employees have been favored in appointments to judicial institutions in Jammu and Kashmir. The PIL has been filed by NGO Jammu and Kashmir People’s Forum. It alleged that several deserving youths were not considered by the High Court for appointments to several administrative posts in judicial institutions. The petition claimed that instead of following the regular recruitment process, the contractual and daily wage workers were regularized. It has been claimed that the High Court ignored the rules of reservation and many posts were not even sanctioned.
7-The Supreme Court will hear on November 18 a plea alleging a lack of antiretroviral drugs to treat HIV patients in the country. The petition states that ARV treatment of people living with HIV/AIDS is hampered due to the non-availability of the drugs at the Anti Retro Viral Therapy Centers of the National AIDS Control Organisation.
8-The Supreme Court will hear on November 18 the petition filed by senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy. Subramanian Swamy has filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding an inquiry into the irregularities committed by the officials of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). In the last hearing, Subramanian Swamy argued in the Supreme Court that in many cases of banking fraud, the role of bank officials was never investigated by the investigating agencies. He gave the example of Vijay Mallya and other cases. Subramanian Swamy had said that the job of a risk manager is to assess the risk of a person before giving a loan, but he was never questioned in any case.
9 – The Supreme Court will hear on November 18 the petition filed by jailed social activist Gautam Navlakha in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist link case. In the last hearing, the Supreme Court had conditionally approved his appeal to keep him under house arrest. The court had said that prima facie there was no reason to reject his medical report.
10- The Supreme Court will hear the case related to the sexual abuse of children on 18 November. In the last hearing, the court had ordered the setting up of special courts in districts with more than 100 cases. The court had said, ‘Special courts should be set up to hear these cases in districts where the incidence of sexual offenses against children is 100 or more. The court had given instructions to set up a special court within 60 days for the trial of these cases.
11-The Delhi High Court will hear on November 18 the petition filed against the Agneepath recruitment scheme. The Central Government has filed an affidavit in the Delhi High Court. Seeking to dismiss the petitions challenging the plan, the Center told the Delhi High Court that agile, young, and technically sound armed forces are needed to defend India’s territory facing external and internal threats.
12-The Delhi High Court will hear on November 18 the petition of accused Ishrat Jahan and other accused in the Delhi violence case. Advocate Amit Prasad, appearing for Delhi Police, opposed the bail. The trial court had held that UAPA and 437 CrPC have a bar. But still, the bail was granted because the accused is a woman. The court had said that to cancel the bail, you have to show that the bail conditions have been violated and whether the appeal is maintainable or not.
13-Om Singh and Shankar Tripathi, arrested in the case of giving Rs 90 lakhs for a ward councilor ticket from Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi Municipal Corporation elections, will be presented in Rouse Avenue Court on November 18 after the ACB remand period is over. Recently, the court sent both of them on ACB remand for 2 days. Please tell that the Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) had arrested three people associated with the Aam Aadmi Party. This whole matter pertains to ward number 69 of Kamla Nagar. Where AAP worker Shobha Khari demanded a corporators ticket from the party. Shobha alleges that MLA Akhilesh Pati Tripathi had demanded Rs 90 lakh in exchange for getting the ticket. However, in this case, the complainant told that he had given Rs 35 lakh as a bribe to Akhilesh Pati Tripathi and Rs 20 lakh to Wazirpur MLA Rajesh Gupta. According to Shobha, the remaining Rs 35 lakh was to be given after the name appeared on the ticket.
