When a famous as well as an infamous Hindi trailblazer called ‘ The Kashmir Files ‘ directed by Vivek Agnihotri was released and screened at various cinema halls of the country simultaneously, nobody had then even thought that the film-maker would be successful in bringing alive pains and sufferings of Kashmiri pandits that they experienced during the last 32 years through his movie. Although, by the time the film was released , it instantly gave way to furious discussions among the people who started even saying that after -all who is the real culprit behind the mass exodus of pandits from the valley. However, in this wake , a hearing took place on a plea filed in the Supreme Court demanding a SIT probe in the targeted Killings of Hindus in the valley in 1990 which was rejected by the top court which put the pundits of the valley in a state of shock and anger.
In a quick reaction to the top court’s verdict, film- maker Agnihotri while expressing his grief wrote on his twitter handle , “ Once again our judiciary has discouraged those pundits who had an inkling of hope in the judgment of the top court. In another tweet, the film maker wrote , “ Court Verdict shows that Kashmir has no longer remained a safe place for the Hindus. “
