1-The Supreme Court will hear on November 22 the curative petition of ‘Roots in Kashmir’ seeking an SIT probe into the massacre of Kashmiri Pandits. The review petition was dismissed in 2017 on the ground that it was filed late by 27 years. The petition states that there is no limitation period for taking action in the case of crimes against humanity.

2-The Supreme Court will hear on November 22 the petition filed by former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. The Nainital High Court’s order to conduct a CBI inquiry against former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has been challenged. In fact, in view of the serious allegation against former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, the Uttarakhand High Court had ordered the CBI to investigate it. Significantly, Umesh Sharma had accused Trivendra Singh Rawat that while in-charge of Jharkhand, he had taken bribe from him to appoint a person to the post of Jharkhand Cow Service Commission chairman. This amount was transferred to the account of relatives of Trivendra Singh. After this allegation, the Uttarakhand government had filed a sedition case against Umesh Sharma, against which Umesh had filed a petition in the High Court.

3-The Supreme Court will hear on November 22 the petition seeking to ban those convicted in criminal cases from contesting elections for life. In the last hearing, the court had transferred former jailed MP Atiq Ahmed from Deoria Jail in UP to Gujarat Jail, showing seriousness on the alleged incident of abducting a businessman after bringing him to jail and assaulting him.

4- The Supreme Court will hear on November 22 the petitions demanding minority status to Hindus in 9 states of the country. The petition has been filed through Advocates Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay, Devkinandan Thakur and many others. It has been said in the petition that Hindus have become a minority in 9 states, but still they cannot open educational institutions of their choice, while the constitution gives this right to minorities.

5- The Supreme Court will hear on November 22 a petition seeking guidelines for speedy justice in cases of desertion of wives by NRI husbands. It has been said in the petition that legal and financial assistance should be given to women who have been abandoned by their NRI husbands. FIR should be registered against such NRI husband and arrest should be ensured.

6-The Supreme Court will give its verdict on November 22 in the case of destitute children living on the streets without delay during the Corona period. During the hearing of the case, the NCPCR had asked the states to identify and rehabilitate street children. The commission had said that children have been rescued from 75 such sites in the last eight months. 270 FIRs have been registered in this matter. The court had directed all the District Magistrates to identify the destitute children living on the streets without delay and make arrangements to hide their heads during the Corona period. The court had said that the help of Special Juvenile Police Units (SJPU), District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and voluntary organizations should be taken to identify these children.

7- The Supreme Court will hear on November 22 the petition filed by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy. Swamy has filed a petition in the Supreme Court regarding the deal between Jet Airways and Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways. In this petition, Swamy has also challenged the bilateral agreement between India and the United Arab Emirates to increase the number of flights.

8- The Supreme Court will hear on November 22 the petition filed demanding the process of child adoption to be simplified. In this petition filed in the Supreme Court, there has been a demand to order the Central Government to simplify the process of child adoption, so that the number of orphan children can be improved. According to the data given in the petition, there are about 3 crore 10 lakh orphan children across the country at present, but due to legal complications, only 16,353 children have been adopted in the last 5 years.

9- The Supreme Court will hear on November 22 the bail plea of ​​Christian Michel James, an accused middleman in the AgustaWestland chopper scam. The ED has opposed Michel’s bail in the Supreme Court. The ED, while filing an affidavit in the Supreme Court, said that Michel is not a citizen of India, he is at risk of absconding. His extradition has been obtained with extreme difficulties and procedural hurdles. Further, the offense in the present case consists of a complex web of transactions. The investigation in respect of the same is going on and the presence of the petitioner at all the stages is important. It is feared that if the petitioner is released on bail, he may run away to avoid investigation. This will be counterproductive during the proceedings.


10- The Delhi High Court will hear on November 22 the pending cases of thousands in consumer courts. In the previous hearing, the court has also directed the registrars to submit monthly reports on the status of disposal of final cases. He issued these directions after it was informed through reports that 9,181 cases were pending before the consumer courts of the capital. Some of them are from before the year 2003. The court was also informed that the consumer courts do not hold regular hearings.

11- The Supreme Court will hear on November 22 the petition filed regarding thousands of medical students who have returned from Ukraine. In the last hearing, the court sought details of students who have benefited from the academic mobility program launched for medical students who have returned from Ukraine. During the hearing, senior advocates Ajit Sinha, Maneka Guruswamy and R Basanth, separately appearing for the students who have returned from Ukraine, submitted that the government cannot back down from these students and has to come forward to help. He had said that 12 states are ready to accept these students and help them complete their course and the Center only has to allow it.

12- The Delhi High Court will hear on November 22 the petition filed against the dismissal of IPS officer Satish Chandra Verma, who was involved in the investigation of the Ishrat Jahan encounter case. Earlier, the Delhi High Court had refused to grant any interim relief to Verma and posted the matter for hearing till January 2023. Satish Chandra Verma has been dismissed from the Indian Police Service on charges of disobeying service conditions.

13- The Rouse Avenue Court will hear on November 22 the petition filed by the ED regarding Trinamool District President of Birbhum, Bengal, arrested in the cattle smuggling case. ED has applied for issuance of production warrant in the name of Anubrata. Explain that the ED, which is probing the money laundering aspect of the cattle smuggling scam, arrested Anubrata Mandal, lodged in the Asansol Correctional Home, after questioning him for five and a half hours.


14- Rouse Avenue Court will hear on November 22 in the case of cabinet minister Satyendar Jain’s video going viral from Delhi’s Tihar Jail. After the video was leaked, Satyendar Jain’s legal team has reached the special court seeking contempt action against the Enforcement Directorate. Jain’s legal team alleges that the ED has leaked the CCTV video despite the affidavit given in the court.
