Supreme Court to Hear Various Cases Including Murder, Political Crisis and Pollution

During the hearing of the matter, Kapil Sibal said that the court primarily has to decide the issue of whether the 2016 five-judge judgment in the Nabam Rabia case should be referred to a seven-judge bench.

The court had earlier refused to lift the ban on exports of iron ore pellets from Karnataka miners.

However, private miners had requested to lift the ban on iron ore exports.

Petition filed by former promoters of Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Limited Kapil Wadhawan and his brother Dheeraj Wadhawan

The Supreme Court will hear on February 15 the petition filed by former promoters of Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Limited Kapil Wadhawan and his brother Dheeraj Wadhawan.

The Wadhawan brothers were arrested in this case on 19 July 2022. However, he was in custody since April 2020 due to pending cases in Lucknow and Mumbai.

The chargesheet was filed in the court here on October 15 and cognizance was taken of it.

The Delhi High Court is likely to file a progress report on February 15 in the matter relating to Indian Railways manipulating contracts awarded to it for allegedly supplying contaminated drinking water to passengers and setting up chlorination plants.

Explain that the court was hearing a petition by an NGO called Center for Public Interest Litigation, in which the NGO alleged neglect of the quality of drinking water supplied to railway passengers and rigging in awarding contracts for setting up chlorination plants. There was a demand for independent investigation under the supervision of the court.
