Kashmiri Pandit’s Killing: Supreme Court rejects SIT probe PIL, Grants Freedom to NGO to Approach Centre

The plea also sought direction for the rehabilitation of those who migrated out of the valley and also sought the SIT be formed to identify those who “aided and abetted the genocide” of the Hindu and Sikh communities between 1989-2003.

The Supreme Court on Friday allowed an NGO named ” We The Citizens’ ‘ to approach the Union Government who pleaded to  the Highest Court  and demanded a probe into the targeted killing of  Kashmiri Pandits and Sikhs in Jammu and Kashmir way back  in 1990.

A bench comprising Justices BR Gavai and CT Ravikumar expressed disinclination of Kashmiri Pandits and Sikhs in Jammu and Kashmir during 1990.

The court bench also  showed no interest in  entertaining the matter and asked the petitioner to approach the authorities . Accordingly, the petition was disposed of granting liberty to the petitioner NGO to file a representation before the Central Government.
