Gujarat – Kamal Trivedi

In 1974, Mr. Trivedi acquired his Bachelor’s Degree in the Science stream with distinction. Thereafter, in the year 1976, while undertaking the 3-year law course concurrently with the 2-year post-graduate course, he completed his second year of law with first rank and two gold medals with merit scholarship. Also attained his post-graduate degree in Master of Personnel Management & Labour Welfare, by securing first class with second rank at the Gujarat University. In 1977, he acquired graduate degree of LL.B., securing first class with first rank and three gold medals and joined the Bar.
From 1978 to 1992, while practicing law, he was also a visiting professor at prestigious colleges of the State viz., Sir L.A. Shah Law College and M.N. Law College as well as the Institute of Company Secretaries. He has also authored the book ‘Law on Central Excise’.
On 27th September, 2001, he was designated as a Senior Advocate by the High Court of Gujarat. He was the Additional Advocate General for the State of Gujarat from 1st September, 2001 to 24th April, 2006. He also held the additional charge of the Advocate General from 3rd January, 2006 to 24th April, 2006. He was then appointed as the Advocate General for the State of Gujarat on 25th April, 2006 and since then, Mr. Trivedi has been holding the said position.
