Farewell Function of CJI NV Ramana Witnessed Some Friendly Talk Between the CJI and Advocates.

During CJI NV Ramana’s farewell speech Justice UU Lalit, next CJI, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, Senior Advocate and Supreme Court Bar Association President Vikas Singh, and Vice President Pradeep Rai mentioned CJI NV Ramana’s  popularity by citing about the crowds at the Supreme Court Auditorium. 

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said at former CJI NV Ramana’s retirement ceremony that there was not a single empty chair and people were waiting outside. 

The Solicitor General also praised the writing of the Judgment of former CJI NV Ramana, in his speech he referred to Ramana’s Legal Documents. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said, “It is very difficult for judges to make sentencing precise and simple. ”

SC Mehta praised former CJI Raman for appointing various judges and said one-third of the vacancies were filled by the collegium led by him.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said “he has some information, gathered from reliable sources, which he intends to make public. Apart from law, my lord has a different passion and that passion is regarding Telugu literature. This may not be a secret. But the secret is that his lordship is contemplating after retirement about writing a romantic novel in Telugu,”

Mehta, further added “he has stopped his research at that and did not go to the root. “What inspired his lordship to write a romantic novel after retirement,” auditorium, jam-packed with people from the legal fraternity, burst into laughter.

However, later in his speech, the former CJI said “he would like to correct Mehta’s comment. Just like the IB reports, your report about me going to write a romantic novel is not correct”.

Senior Advocate Vikas Singh talked about Former CJI NV Ramana’s ambition in politics and said, “It is a loss of politics because Had he been in politics, he would have been prime minister of the country today. 
Senior Advocate Vikas Singh said that it is our good fortune that he chose the legal profession and it is the highest one can get into this profession.
