A complaint filed against the movie “Thank God,” starring Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra in the state of Uttar Pradesh

A complaint has been made against the offensive portrayal of the holy character Chitragupt in the film “Thank God,” which stars Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra. Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra’s movie “Thank God” has run into legal issues. There has been a complaint made against the primary actors, Indra Kumar, and the director, alleging that the film mocks religion and offends religious sensitivities.

According to the complaint submitted by attorney Himanshu Srivastava, Chitragupt, played by Ajay Devgn in the movie, is seen using foul language while cracking jokes in one of the scenes. The Lord of Karma known as Chitragupta records a person’s good and negative activities. Since it offends religious feelings, such depictions of Gods could lead to unpleasant situations, according to the petition.

In the suit submitted by attorney Himanshu Srivastava, Bhagwan Chitragupta is depicted in the movie’s trailer in a “clumsy manner” and with the use of “jokes and inappropriate language.” In addition, the petition stated “As the lord of karma, Chitragupta keeps a record of a person’s good and negative activities. Such God representations might lead to unpleasant situations because they offend religious sensibilities.” That’s not all, though, as it also claims that the movie is part of a “well-executed Bollywood conspiracy to destabilise public order.”

Nora Fatehi, who portrays a “apsara,” is also shown in the video to assess Sidharth for “vasana” or “desire.” “Parayi aurat ko behen aur maa ki nazar se dekhna chahiye,” is then heard Ajay stating. Ajay, who is well known for his forceful language delivery, also informs Sidharth in the trailer that: “What is the status of the badhi galti in this situation? Bhagwaan ki ek nahi maante, tum bhagwaan ko toh maante ho.”

While the court is scheduled to hear the case on November 18, it is also rumoured that the petitioner’s statement would be recorded on that day. On October 25, 2022, Indra Kumar’s film, starring Ajay, Sidharth, and Rakul Preet Singh, is slated for release.
